Resett Nizam Jewelery in Hyderabad: Himayat Ali Mirza na PM

Hyderabad: In a letter, the great-grandson of the last Nizam, Himayat Ali Mirza urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to relocate the Nizam jewelry in Hyderabad.

Mirza recommended the prime minister to set up an excellent museum in Hyderabad where the jewels of the seventh and final Nizam of the Supreme State Mir Osman Ali Khan can be seen.

Himayat Ali Mirza, the grandson of Moazam Jah, the second son of the seventh Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan, offered his services to find a proper land for the establishment of a high security museum. He added that many of the diamonds in the jewels were mined from the Krishna River Valley, known as Golconda mines in historical reports.

According to the relatives of the Nizam, the exclusive jewels are from the most elegant collections in the world and the most popular with Sotheby and Christies. Himayat Ali Mirza said with the intervention of her mother Fatima Fouzia, the auction of these jewelery at discarded prices was stopped in the nineties. The Government of India bought the jewelery for R from the trustees. 217 crores containing it as a national heritage site.
