From news anchor to actor, how was the journey?
As a child I always dreamt of becoming a news anchor and I always participated in all the shows and dramas in school and college. My father was a stage actor, so he inspired me as well. Earlier, I did a cameo in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. Currently, I am exploring opportunities.
Have you taken any formal training in acting?
I haven’t taken any formal training in acting. Mostly self-taught but yes, my parents have played a great role in shaping my career. My mother was a very good dancer and a stage actor during her younger days and as I said my father too was a stage artiste during his university days.
What is your role in Happu ki Ultan Paltan?
I’m playing Rusa, who is a bindaas girl. In real life too, I am a bindaas and a very straightforward person. Happu Ki Ultan Paltan is known for its clean comedy.
What are your views on the current pandemic scenario?
Covid-19 has had a bad impact across all industries. I simply pray to the Almighty that this comes to an end soon. I never ever imagined in my wildest of dreams that we would go through such a situation. Coronavirus has taught us a lot and I guess we all should learn.
Who are your favourite Bollywood actors?
Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan are my favourites. Madhuri is an amazing dancer, Deepika is such a diva and actor and Salman is simply matchless.
Comedy is a difficult task. Your comment?
I feel the key to comedy is timing and it has to come naturally. Comedy is the best therapy indeed. Sunil Grover, Kapil Sharma and Maniesh Paul have commendable comic timing.
What are your hobbies?
Dancing, shopping and writing. I used to write promos for channels where I have worked. I want to continue writing as it acts as a stress-buster.
Tell us about your future plans...
I don’t plan. I don’t know as of now what the future holds but I am surely looking at something meaningful and stable. I am a secure person. I live life one day at a time.
