Smuggler nabbed by Chatra Police with 935 grams of brown sugar

Chatra, Jun 13 (UNI) The district police has arrested a smuggler from Kathautiya Mode under the Rajpur Police Station area of this district along with 935 grams of brown sugar.
The arrested has been identified as Tribhuvan Kumar Sharma a resident of Lowagarh Police Station. The cost of the recovered brown sugar has been estimated at Rs 15 lakh.
SDPO Avinash Kumar said that a tip-off had been received regarding the movement of a smuggler from Rajpur to Chatra after which a vehicle checking drive was conducted on Rajpur-Chatra main road during which a bike-borne man was apprehended at Kathautiya road.
Upon seeing the police the man tried to flee but was chased and caught the SDPO said, adding that from the bike the brown sugar was recovered.
