PSL 2021: In another moment of scare, Quetta Gladiators and Chennai Super Kings star Faf du Plessis was rushed to hospital after he collided with teammate Mohammad Hasnain during a Pakistan Super League (PSL 2021) match against Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
Saturday night had two moments of a scare for sports fans across the world. If Christian Eriksen’s on-field collapse during Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland had the world searching for updates on any good news on the footballer’s health, in Abu Dhabi, Faf du Plessis survived his own moment of a scare.

PSL 2021: It was during the 7th over of Zalmi’s innings when David Miller hit a drive off Mohammad Nawaz down the ground. Both Faf du Plessis and Mohammad Hasnain sprinted to save the boundary. While du Plessis dived to stop the boundary, his head hit an on-rushing Mohammad Hasnain awkwardly.
Faf du Plessis was seen laying on the ground for a few minutes as physios rushed to check on his condition. But the former South Africa captain got on his feet and walked out of the field on his own. However, he did not come to bat due to concussion precautions. Later, he was taken to hospital and was replaced by Saim Ayub as a concussion substitute.
Du Plessis’ wife Imari Visser later posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, urging to get him admitted to a hospital. She posted the image where the Protean was seen with a bad bruise on his neck and he was clutching his head in pain.

“This is killing me right now. Surely he should be checked in hospital?!??” Faf du Plessis’ wife Imari wrote on her Instagram story.
PSL 2021: It was the second incident in as many days for Quetta Gladiators as on Friday, their star all-rounder Andre Russell was stretchered off after he suffered a blow to his helmet off a Mohammad Musa bouncer. He was not available for Saturday’s match.
As for du Plessis, his team and fans will hope to see him back soon as the Chennai Super Kings opener is a crucial player for the team. During IPL 2021, he set the stage alight with four consecutive half-centuries including an unbeaten 95.
