A scaled back Trooping the Colour ceremony was held at Windsor Castle on Saturday to mark Queen Elizabeth II's official birthday, held annually on the second Saturday of June.

The monarch, who turned 95 on April 21, was accompanied on stage by her cousin Duke of Kent, 85, in his role as Colonel of the Scots Guards, as she marked the sombre occasion just two days after her late husband Prince Philip would have turned 100.

The Queen cut her birthday cake at 'The Big Lunch' initiative at The Eden Project, near St Austell in south west England on June 11.
