Hyderabad: Cyberabad police on Sunday booked 31 young people for organizing birthday parties Covid-19 lock-up standards at Kadthal near Hyderabad.
The youngsters, including girls, took part in the birthday party which was held in a farmhouse in Kadthal in Ranga Reddy district, under the auspices of the Cyberabad Police Commissioner.
In blatant violation of the Covid-19 protocol and the constant exclusion, the guests drank liquor and danced with DJ. The participants, mostly college students, violated social norms and many were maskless.
Upon receiving information about the party, police reached the venue in the early hours of the morning. Deputy Commissioner of Police N. Prakash Reddy said police seized liquor bottles.
Police discussed a case against the organizers and guests for violating the closing norms and launched further investigation.
The organizers are choosing the farmhouse outside the city for the birthday party, apparently to avoid the police.
This is the second case in less than a week. On June 11, police in Hyderabad booked nine people to celebrate their birthday in violation of Covid protocol. Police took action after a video of the celebration in the Habeeb Nagar area went viral on social media. In the video, a large maskless crowd is seen dancing to loud music and flashing swords.
The birthday celebration was arranged late on June 9th. Birthday boys Arjun and Sriram were among those booked to speak Covid norms.
Covid induced lock-in norms apply until June 19 in Telangana. The lock is valid between 18:00 and 06:00
All gatherings, including social, political, religious, sports, entertainment, academic and cultural activities are prohibited.
