Telangana: Former TRS minister Etela Rajender resigns as MLA, set to join BJP with others

Senior TRS leader and former Telangana Health Minister E. Rajender has resigned from the post of MLA; he also resigned as a member of the party on 4th June earlier this month.

Telangana`s ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has suffered a major setback after Senior TRS leader and former Telangana Health Minister E. Rajender has resigned from the post of MLA; he also resigned as a member of the party on 4th June earlier this month.

Former TRS minister E Rajender has resigned from the post of MLA in Telangana; his resignation has unfolded a series of discussions in the political corridors about him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. Rajendra is one of the senior leaders of the ruling TRS representing the Huzurabad constituency.

Rajendra told reporters before resigning, that many of his well-wishers advised him to resign but he was doing so for the sake of self-respect for his constituency and the people of Telangana. Sources close to Rajendra said he is likely to join the BJP on June 14 in the presence of BJP national president J P Nadda in Delhi.

He had directly met the senior leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Rajendra has been invited by the high command to join the BJP party. It is being told that apart from Rajendra, some TRS leaders can join the Bharatiya Janata Party. TRS leader Rajendra was sacked from the cabinet last month after complaints that companies owned by his family members occupied land in Telangana.
