NATIONAL SUMMARY

Showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop along a

cold front today, extending southward from the eastern Great

Lakes into the Ohio Valley and reaching into the southern

Plains around northeastern Texas. Additional showers and

thunderstorms will form along the Southeast coast from North

Carolina into Georgia, then spread into northern Florida.

Some thunderstorms will continue to develop westward along

the Gulf coast, extending through the Florida Panhandle into

Louisiana. A few gusty thunderstorms will develop later in

the afternoon from eastern Colorado into North Texas. In the

Northwest, a persistent storm just off the coast will

produce rain near the Pacific coast from Northern California

to Washington, with showers farther inland. Hot weather will

continue to build into the Southwest.
