A short teaser for A Plague Tale: Requiem was shown during the Xbox and Bethesda E3 2021 showcase, and it paints a horrifying picture for the disease that nearly wiped out all of Europe.
The trailer consists almost entirely of a single shot of rats moving down a city's alley. Rather than just a few rats, however, it's essentially a tsunami of rats, and we also see a quick shot of people getting stabbed stealthily in the neck. As it concludes, a young girl opens her eyes in horror, as if she were imagining a potential future.
The game is the successor to A Plague Tale: Innocence, which released back in 2019 and blended disturbing world-building with stealth gameplay. It appears Requiem will follow in its footsteps, albeit with a shiny coat of paint if played on the newer systems or PC. It's the game's "second chapter" according to Asobo Studio, and once again follows Amicia and Hugo.
A Plague Tale: Requiem is out for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC in 2022, and it will be available on launch day through Xbox Game Pass.
