New Delhi: Dilip Lande, the Shiv Sena MLA from Kandivali constituency in north Mumbai, reportedly made a contractor sit on a waterlogged road while garbage was thrown on top of him. According to NDTV, this was done to “punish” the contractor for not having the drains cleaned properly.
Visuals of the incident have gone viral on social media. Lande is seen asking the contractor to sit on the road multiple times. As he sits, someone else pushes the contractor. The MLA is then seen telling two other men to pour garbage and slush over the contractor.

Mumbai has been seeing heavy rainfall for the last few days. Lande later told the media, “I had been calling up the contractor for the last 15 days, requesting him to clear the road. He never did that. Shiv Sena people were themselves working on it. When he came to know, he rushed there. I told him that it’s his responsibility and he should do it.”
The Shiv Sena has been controlling the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for the past 25 years.
