Eatala Rajender resigns as MLA

Hyderabad: Former Health Minister and senior member of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), Eatala Rajender, presented his resignation from the Legislative Assembly on Saturday.

In a note addressed to Telangana State Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, Eatala said it would relinquish its seat in the assembly with immediate effect. Eatala represented the Huzurabad constituency in the current Warangal (urban) district for three terms.

He served as Minister of Finance during the first term of KCR. In the second term, he was made the Minister of Health.

Eatala resigned from the TRS party last week and questioned his expulsion from the state cabinet on unconfirmed allegations of land grabbing. Rajender said in the media that he was ‘victimized’ by the TRS supremo and prime minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Earlier Friday, Tarun Chugh met several leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including the Telangana state, in a clear indication of which direction he was heading during lunch. JP Telangana President, dr. K Laxman, and the member of the executive committee of BJP, N. Ramchander, were among those present.

‘People are willing to join BJP to end dictatorial and nepotistic politics in Telangana State. “The fight is against the dictatorial, nepotistic politics and corrupt government of TRS,” Chugh told ANI on Friday.

This meeting comes days after Eatala’s visit to New Delhi, where he met the BJP top leadership. He would soon join the saffron party, sources confirmed.
