Children who lost their parents because of Covid-19 will be given RS 1 lakh as immediate relief and Rs 2500 per month till the age of 18 in Rajasthan by the state government. The Rajasthan government has announced a package ‘Mukhymantri Corona Bal Kalyan Yojana’ for Covid orphans on Saturday.

Some monetary relief has also been announced for women who lost their husbands due to Covid-19.

The beneficiaries of the package will get Rs 1 lakh as one time grant for immediate relief, Rs 2500 per month till the age of 18, Rs 5 lakh at the age of 18 and free education up to class 12th in the residential schools of the government.

Apart from this, destitute girls who were getting a higher education will get admission in government hostels on priority and youth will get priority in unemployment allowance. This package will be in addition to the package announced by the Central government.

Immediate relief of Rs 1 lakh and a widow pension of Rs1500 per month will be given to the women who lost their husbands due to Covid-19. This pension will be given to all Covid widows irrespective of their annual income and age. They will also get Rs 1000 per month and Rs. 2000 every year for books and school uniform for each of their child.

The government had directed the officials to identify the children who lost their parents to COVID-19. More than 400 such children were found.
