EXCLUSIVE: Josh Gibson weighs in on whether David Genat was just 'playing a game' on Celebrity Apprentice - after their fiery boardroom showdown

David Genat was accused by his Celebrity Apprentice co-stars of 'strategising' and 'playing a game' before he was fired by Lord Alan Sugar on last Sunday's episode.

And following his fiery boardroom showdown with Josh Gibson, Josh has weighed in on whether the model simply joined the show to ruffle feathers and create drama.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Saturday ahead of finale week, the AFL star, 37, began by saying David's best work has been his portrayal on Australian Survivor.

'That's what Dave's been known for, isn't it? Obviously he's a model but his best work has been the way he's played the game on Survivor,' Josh told Daily Mail Australia.

'They (producers) wanted him on this show to bring that aspect and he did. What we saw on the edit is Dave. He's a nice guy, but he's going to work the room to try and make it in his favour.'

Josh went on to recall David having played the game direct to Michelle Bridges' face, but that ultimately his downfall was in Lord Sugar believing there was too much of a game aspect.

'He might say to someone you're safe to your face, and then later on put them up to be fired like he did with Michelle Bridges,' he said.

'Ultimately in the end, the game side of things saw him get unstuck because I think Lord Sugar could read through that. Lord Sugar thought he was just playing too much of a game.'

David was fired during last Sunday's tense boardroom meeting following a pet viral video challenge.

Before keeping Josh, Ross Noble and Scherri-Lee Biggs safe, Lord Sugar said David was not pulling his weight, and 'fronting around like the Wolf of Wall Street'.

With his quick firing, David admitted to being 'super salty' as he left the building.

'Look at the end of the day, I felt we were playing a game. Lord Sugar doesn't like to call it a game apparently,' he said.

'This is not the result I wanted obviously. I'm a bit psycho when it comes to winning. I'm very salty. I'm super, super salty.'

This Sunday sees finale week commence with Josh still in the running to win, alongside Michael Wipfli, Ross Noble, Shaynna Blaze and Martha Kalifatidis.

Josh has chosen children's cancer charity My Room, who are working towards a 100 per cent cure rate for all childhood cancers.

'While I was playing football I was lucky enough to do a little bit of work with them, getting into hospitals, visiting kids and really getting an understanding of what My Room is trying to achieve,' Josh told Daily Mail Australia.

'A close friend of mind lost their son to cancer at a young age. I was there for their son's birth in Los Angeles; I was also at his funeral. You should never in life have to experience being at someone's birth and funeral.

'It's something that is so close to me. I think we all agree that when you look back, the years of being a child are the best years of your life. Every child should have the opportunity to try and live out their childhood to the fullest,' he continued.
