During the half-time break, come join us on a trip down memory lane back to 2011 for a classic clash between St Kilda and Adelaide which finished with a triple-figure margin. Crows fans, look away now.

Apart from a 10-minute patch in the second quarter, it has all been St Kilda in this first half.
They comfortably lead the disposals 220-164, tackles 37-27, marks 47-21, inside 50s 33-23, contested possessions 86-73 and scoring shots 13-8 and it shows on the scoreboard.
Saints reassert themselves
The Crows actually enjoyed a solid period of dominance in the second quarter and strung together seven consecutive scoring shots to get within 19 points of the Saints.
But a couple of quick goals from Byrnes and King see the Saints restore their 31-point lead in the shadows of half-time, 7.6.48 to 2.5.17.

Clark subbed out
Clark has reportedly suffered a broken jaw after being involved in a heavy collision with Mackay. He’s been subbed out and replaced in the Saints’ line-up by Bytel.
Dam walls burst open (sort of)
The Crows’ cup runneth over! They register four scores in the space of three minutes and importantly the last of those scores is a goal to McAdam who all of a sudden has 1.2 to his name. They desperately needed that after dominating play for the last five minutes.
Hurrah! Adelaide score!
Finally! At the 15-minute mark of the second quarter, the Crows get their first score of the game courtesy of Shane McAdam – but it’s not the kind of score they wanted. His checkside punt from the boundary line goes the wrong side of the goal post and they now trail by 35 points, 0.1.1 to 5.6.36.
Crows closing in on unwanted history
We are nearing the halfway mark of the second quarter and Adelaide are STILL scoreless.
A team hasn’t been held to 0.0.0 at half-time since Fitzroy in Round 1, 1995 against Essendon.
It’s only happened twice in the last 97 years, and both times it was Fitzroy.
‘Crows haven’t looked like it’
Here’s some social media reaction to the first quarter and a bit with the Saints in total control, 5.6.36 to 0.0.0.
Saints keep Crows scoreless in opening term
For just the fifth time in 701 matches, Adelaide are held scoreless in the first quarter. And after not keeping a team scoreless in the first quarter since 2013, the Saints have now done it twice in the space of seven games after also doing it to Hawthorn in round seven.

That first quarter was an absolute domination from the Saints. They smashed the Crows in disposals 113-72, marks 26-9, inside 50s 14-6, contested possessions 48-32 and scoring shots 7-0 while they also lead the tackles 19-16 and hitouts 10-8.
Adelaide made the St Kilda backline’s job so easy, with ill-directed disposals falling straight into the laps of Highmore and Howard who combined for a whopping 13 intercepts!

Saints kick clear
After a very laborious first 20 minutes of the game, the Saints go bang-bang courtesy of King and Wood and all of a sudden they lead by 19 points, 3.1.19 to 0.0.0.
Wood already has a couple of majors and St Kilda’s dominance of the stat sheet is finally being reflected on the scoreboard.
