Krejcikova is the 2021 French Open women's singles champion

Nerves are evident. Both are putting in everything they've got but little mistakes here and there are proving to be disastrous. Pavlyuchenkova holds and saves two championship points to make it 5-4. 

Krejcikova is now on the brink of winning her maiden Grand Slam title. She leads 5-3 with a backhand winner.

An excellent forehand from Barbora Krejcikova as he breaks Pavlyuchenkova again in the final. And she has the lead now at 4-3.

Hang on! Krejcikova’s isn't done. She has shifted a gear - 15-0, 30-0, 40-0 and game. The first love game of this contest. It's 3-3 now in the decider.

Pavlyuchenkova holds and wins her 65th point - same as her opponent. The Russian leads the decider 3-2.

Decider is underway after a somewhat longer break. Pavlyuchenkova starts well - her serves well in control. She takes 1-0 lead

Pavlyuchenkova Makes it One-All: The Russian has done it. She bounces back from a poor start to win the second set 6-2 and in between also overcame a leg injury which needed attention of physio resulting in a medical timeout. Folks, we are are in for a decider now. 

Injury scare for Pavlyuchenkova: We have a medical time-out here with the Russian being attended to my a physio right now. The discomfort was evident when she didn't attempt to fetch a wide return from Krejcikova.

Krejcikova clings on to the set breaking Pavlyuchenkova with a whipped forehand! She still trails 2-5 in the second set.

Pavlyuchenkova concedes the first game of this set but then immediately rebounds to make it 4-1. Looks like we are headed towards a decider. 

Pavlyuchenkova now leads 3-0. What a turnaround has this been from the first set. And it seems whatever was bothering Pavlyuchenkova has now turned its focus on Krejcikova who is fumbling and committing errors. 

Second Set: New set has brought some respite for Pavlyuchenkova who has held her serve to win her first game after losing six straigh in the opening set. She continues to have issues with her first serve though. She then breaks Krejcikova to sprint to a 2-0 lead.

Set 1: Krejcikova pockets the first set 6-1 vs Pavlyuchenkova. 

Krejcikova is bossing over Pavlyuchenkova. She has now won five games in a row. And has broken her again. Not that Pavlyuchenkova is at sea - she is trying quite hard but Krejcikova is too tough a nut to crack at the moment. Krejcikova leads 5-1

Krejcikova is on a roll in the first set now, She has twice broken her opponent today and emerges on the right side of a long rally to pocket the fifth game and take a solid 4-1 lead in the opening set of her maiden French Open final.

Krejcikova takes the lead at 2-1.

First Set: Oh well! Krejcikova breaks Pavlyuchenkova now, This contest is off to some start. Pavlyuchenkova looks a bity rusty during her serves. This one was a sort of a mini marathon which ends in Krejcikova's favour. All square at 1-1. 

First Set: Pavlyuchenkova has broken Krejcikova in the opening game itself. She currently leads 1-0

Meanwhile, the legendary  Martina Navratilova will present the French Open trophy to the winner of the women’s final. The former top-ranked Navratilova won Roland Garros twice in singles, in 1982 and 1984, and lost four times in the final. She also won the doubles title seven times.

So both the players have entered the court. Both with an equal chance to win their maiden first Grand Slam title. Toss is done and Pavlyuchenkova decides to be the reciever.
