SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha on Friday categorically denied any move to bifurcate the Union territory and said that such “completely baseless rumours” were spread by anti-national people with vested interests.
In an interview to Times Now, Sinha said: “These are baseless and mischievous conspiracy theories circulated by a small section of anti-national elements. Such rumours are also fanned by certain elements based outside India.”
Clearing the air on the movement of paramilitary forces — which had fuelled rumours about bifurcation of J&K — Sinha said: “These personnel were deputed outside J&K for elections. They were in quarantine and now moving to respective postings. Moreover, there is normal practice of troop movement in anticipation of Amarnath Yatra.”
