De-Cix revenues up 10% in 2020 on growing customer base, bandwidth demand

De-Cix said the number of customers on its internet exchanges increased by 18 percent in 2020 to over 2,200, with the pandemic triggering higher demand for bandwidth. The Frankfurt exchange alone passed the 1,000-customers mark. De-Cix Hamburg increased its customer bandwidth by 127 percent last year and peak traffic by almost 150 percent. De-Cix Dusseldorf recorded an increase in customers of almost 65 percent, while Munich saw its peak traffic rising by over 105 percent and customer bandwidth increasing by around 30 percent.
