AP aghast over non availability of kerosene oil in J&K

Srinagar, Jun 11 (UNI) Expressing deep resentment over the alleged unavailability of kerosene oil across the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir, Apni Party (AP) on Friday said poor families living in remote and far-flung areas suffer the most.
AP Media Advisor Farooq in a statement here this afternoon said that the Government should vigilantly be cognizant of the ground situation knowing that there still exists a vast section of the people who are dependent on Kerosene oil as a primary fuel.
“The poor man’s fuel has now become inaccessible to the general mass. The authorities in charge must know that not every house in J&K has been provided with a LPG connection and neither electric supply is 24x7 available in the far-flung areas. The main conventional fuel source for such families has always been Kerosene,” Andrabi said.
He said that the situation has become pathetic wherein Kerosene oil is only accessible in black markets whereas the administration is acting impervious to the genuine demand of the public.
“The administration needs to shun their lackadaisical attitude in regards to this matter and restart delivering the monthly kerosene quota to those families who live in the suburbs or don’t have access to LPG connection. Pertinently, the harsh weather conditions and difficult terrain in J&K also makes it requisite for the people to use this conventional fuel during road closures or electricity blackouts,” he urged.
