Dilip Kumar gets discharged from hospital after being kept on oxygen support

Lakhs of people, if not more, were praying for veteran actor Dilip Kumar's speedy recovery after he was hospitalised in Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital. The prayers seem to have worked. The 98-year old actor, who was hospitalised a few days back due to 'breathlessness', has finally been discharged. On June 6, he was diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion and was put on oxygen support. His condition was reported to be stable. However, his age coupled with his delicate health had left everyone concerned. In a tweet on the legendary star's official Twitter handle on 11 June, family friend Faisal Farooqui informed: 'With your blessings and prayers, Dilip Saab is going home from the hospital. Your unlimited love and affection has always touched Dilip Saab's heart. - Faisal Farooqui' Almost immediately, fans rushed to the comments section to thank Faisal for the good news and praise the Almighty for keeping him safe. Earlier this week, several rumours surrounding Dilip Kumar's health circulated online. That's when his wife Saira Banu decided to shut down speculations once and for all. She took to her husband's official Twitter handle and shared a note urging everyone to not believe in the rumours. She wrote, 'Past few days my beloved husband, Yousuf Khan, has been unwell and recuperating at a hospital in Mumbai. Through this note, I want to thank all of you for keeping him in your prayers and for all the love and affection. My husband, my Kohinoor, our Dilip Kumar Sahab’s health is stable and doctors have assured me that he should be discharged soon. I urge you to not believe in rumors. While I ask you to pray for Sahab’s health, I am praying that the Almighty keep all of you safe and healthy during this pandemic. Sincerely Saira Banu Khan.'
