Team India

Team India led by 'King Kohli' is all set to face the mighty Kiwis in the World Test Championship final which will start from May 18.

There is absolutely no doubt about the fact that team India has got all the arsenal required to lift the coveted trophy. However, the Kiwis, led by Kane Williamson have got themselves well accustomed to the English conditions which gives them a slight advantage over India.

India's record against New Zealand in Tests

New Zealand and India have a very interesting history as far as Test cricket is concerned. Both the team have done well in home conditions. The two sides first played a Test series against each other in 1955. India won the series 2-0.

Since then, India and New Zealand have faced each other 59 times in Test cricket in which the Indians have emerged victoriously as many as 29 times. Whereas the Kiwis have won only 12 times.

Moreover, out of the 21 series played between India and New Zeland so far, 11 have been won by India and New Zealand have managed to win only 6. Four of the series have ended in a draw.

Although, in the last Test series between the two national teams which was played in New Zealand, the Kiwis ended up on the winning side.

India lost both the Tests in the 2019/20 series. However, team India has added several feathers to its Test cap since then. India recently defeated the Aussies in their own den and absolutely thrashed England when they toured India a few months back.

Needless to say, team India has the capability to take the coveted Trophy home, however, they do have a tough challenge ahead of them.
