Telrad enables FastNet to migrate from WiMAX to LTE-U

Telrad Networks, a provider of LTE products, has been enlisted by South Sudanese ISP Fast Network (FastNet) to deliver key technologies for migrating the ISP's WiMAX infrastructure to unlicensed LTE (LTE-U).The upgrade will augment and replace FastNet's existing 2.x GHz band network with a modern 5 GHz LTE-U network. The move comes as many ISPs around the world relinquish licensed bands within the WiMAX spectrum either because of increasing costs or because state regulators are auctioning the bands off for 5G services.
