Sangareddy: As Manjira’s catchment areas upstream of the Singur project received a lot of rainfall on Thursday night, the project has started to get its first inflow of the season. The project, which was built across the Manjira River in Singur in the Pulkal Mandal of the Sangareddy district, currently has 17 TMCft water at its full capacity 29.91 TMCft. As the project flooded heavily during September and October last year, the project stored at 17 TMCft.
Deputy Executive Engineer Singur Project Nagaraju told Telangana today that the project received 5,972 guests on Friday night. The inflow began Thursday night since the catchment areas reported rainfall of more than 100mm of rainfall. The inflow is expected to continue for the next few days. The outflow of the project was set at 470 cusecs.
