MUMBAI: Depression is still considered a taboo in India and anyone who suffers from such a condition become hesitant to talk about it openly. This is not just restricted to commoners, but actresses from the television and Bollywood industry also have undergone through the dark phase of depression in their lives.
In the battle against depression, there are some actresses who have come forward in the limelight and talked about it openly to create awareness about depression. But not all people respond to mental illness in the same way.
There are people who have successfully won their battle against depression, while there are unlucky ones who have lost their lives to the mental illness.

In a recent interview, the actress revealed, “After I did Mann Ki Aawaz Pratigya, I was sure that I would get good roles but that didn't happen. I didn’t get good roles even after working with such a big banner and performing so well. There were issues in my personal life too, so that added to it. I was aware that the entertainment was an unpredictable space, but I couldn’t handle it well. That's when I went through a low and experienced depression. ''With help from her family, she slowly bounced back. "I got back to real My family helped me get out of the phase and I am fine now,” she shared.
