SA star LootLove is taking over Apple Music's Africa Now Radio as the new host.

The presenter takes the reins from Nigerian muso DJ Cuppy, who hosted the show since its inception in 2020.

"I am the new host of Africa Now Radio. I think I still need to keep saying it in my head just to get used to it," LootLove said in a statement shared with Channel24.

"The opportunity came about earlier on in the year when I was asked to record a demo and I had recently left my job at a radio station I was working at because I felt like it was time for me to explore different spaces with territory. I guess it just worked out really well for me and the universe was listening to what I was asking from it. This opportunity came, the South African team reached out, we recorded a demo and conversation and little did I know that this was the opportunity that was going to come from it."

LootLove will make her debut on Sunday, 13 June, joined by the legendary Angélique Kidjo, who will chat about her upcoming album, Mother Nature.

The host will also spotlight "The Big 5" - the five hottest new African tracks - and share her favourite track of the week from Apple Music's African playlists in her "Loot Loves" segment.

Africa Now Radio with LootLove airs every Sunday at 15:00 CAT on Apple Music 1.
