Fans of shows on Netflix Inc. will now be able to shop online for items based on their favorite programming, directly from the streaming source.

Netflix NFLX, +0.40% announced the launch of Netflix.shop on Thursday, with debut merchandise including action figures based on the anime series “Yasuke and Eden” and limited-edition clothes and decorative items based on the show “Lupin,” designed in collaboration with Musée du Louvre.

Netflix has previously partnered with third-parties, including Target Corp. TGT, +0.06%, to make merchandise available.

Items based on the hit show “Stranger Things” and “The Witcher” are on the way, along with clothes designed by the Japanese fashion house BEAMS with the Netflix logo.

Many companies that don’t do business in apparel and collectibles are now making merchandise available, one more way to reach loyal fans.

McDonald’s Corp. MCD, +1.05% launched a line of merchandise along with its recent BTS meal.

And Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. CMG, +0.49% has made clothing and avocado-inspired makeup available, in collaboration with E.L.F. Beauty Inc. ELF, -0.04%

Netflix stock is down 9.8% for the year to date while the benchmark S&P 500 index SPX, +0.57% has gained 12.9% for the period.
