Mumbai reports 788 new COVID-19 cases, 27 deaths on June 9
Mumbai reported 788 new COVID-19 cases on June 9, taking the total tally to 7,13,790. Now, there are 15,947 active cases in the city.
City recorded 27 deaths due to coronavirus on Wednesday which pushed its fatality count to 15,100 as per data released by the city's civic body. 511 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged on Tuesday taking the recovery count to 6,80,520.
IMD issues Orange alert in Mumbai for next 4 days as monsoon arrives
As various parts of Maharashtra are receiving rainfall, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday has issued an 'Orange' alert in Mumbai, Palghar, and Thane districts of Maharashtra for the next four days.
Mumbai's Santacruz observed 164.8 mm rainfall from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm, while Colaba received 32.2 mm rainfall, the IMD reported.

Maharashtra reports 10,989 COVID-19 cases, 261 deaths
Maharashtra on Wednesday reported 10,989 new COVID-19 cases, taking the state's caseload to 58,63,880. It also recorded 261 fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,01,833, health officials said.
The daily cases in the state have dipped to around 10,000 in the last two days. Maharashtra had reported 9,927 cases on March 9 this year after which the numbers had increased.
As many as 16,379 patients were discharged on Wednesday, taking the number of recovered persons to 55,97,304.
The state's recovery rate is 95.45 percent and the case fatality rate is 1.74 percent, the health department said.
