Cheetahs coach Hawies Fourie has named a team to tackle Griquas in a Currie Cup warm-up match in Kimberley on Friday.
The Cheetahs beat the EP Elephants 74-7 in Bloemfontein last weekend, before it was confirmed this week that EP coach Peter de Villiers and 11 of his players tested positive for Covid-19.
The Cheetahs group, which includes players and team management, all tested negative for Covid-19 on Monday.
Their warm-up match against the Pumas, which was scheduled for Friday, was however cancelled due to uncertainty. The Cheetahs group was tested again on Thursday morning and only one player tested positive.
The Cheetahs have now been cleared for a match against Griquas in Kimberley on Friday (12:30 kick-off), with veteran scrumhalf Ruan Pienaar leading them out.
The match serves as preparation for the Currie Cup which kicks off for the Toyota Cheetahs on 26 June when the two teams will be facing each other again in Kimberley.
