HYDERABAD: A local court in Nampally on Wednesday directed a
car driver to undergo life imprisonment for killing his employer, who was staying in a hotel at Lakidikapul in 2010.
Saifabad police said that the victim Shiva Prasad Rao, a businessman who made a vain attempt to contest assembly election, was killed by his car driver B Prashanth.
On the day of
murder, both the accused and the victim consumed alcohol together.
During the discussion, the victim abused the accused, who got annoyed and attacked the victim with a weighing machine and fled away after stealing the purse and gold ornaments of Shiva.
The next day morning, when the victim’s gunman came to the hotel, the victim was found in a pool of blood. When the gunman checked for Shiva’s car, the vehicle was missing from the parking lot.
Suspecting the role of Prashanth, police traced him at Bowenpally.
A chargesheet was filed against the accused, during the trial 27 persons were examined as witnesses by the court.
