Orange alert in Ratnagiri

Ratnagiri, Jun 10 (UNI) After IMD warned of heavy rainfall in Ratnagiri district for next two days, the
district collector has sounded an orange alert.
Also, with the possibility of cloudburst in the district on June 11 or 12, administration had already imposed two days curfew in the district from Friday.
Therefore, after easing of lockdown-like restrictions in the district, people thronged to the market to buy essentials in heavy rain.
Meanwhile, overnight heavy rainfall continued on Thursday in the district, with sea being very rough off the coast.
As there is a possibility of three metre high waves near the coastline, administration has alerted the people living near the coastline to shift to safer places.
