The movie stood as the biggest blockbuster hit in the career of both director and hero. After watching Aadi movie, top heroes like chiranjeevi and balakrishna exhibited their interest to work with Vinayak and also did movies under his direction. Exactly two years after that, Vinayaka did another movie with ntr titled Sambha. The movie which was made in the faction backdrop failed to impress the audience much.

The movie was released on june 9, 2004. Today the movie completes 17 years successfully and on the occasion v v Vinayaka reveals the most disliked scene from the film. There was an odd scene in the movie which Vinayak wrote and directed, but he said that he didn't want to put that in the final movie.

But the rest of the unit convinced him to put it in the film. He said that after watching the film many audiences criticized him for the oddness in it. The scene occurs between Villain (Prakash Raj), his brother and his wife. prakash raj prompts his brother to abuse his younger brother's wife. While Prakash Raj's wife tries to stop him, he warns her that she would become the victim of the abuse if she didn't walk away from there. This scene was said to have left Vinayak facing negative comments from the audience.
