Adilabad: A daily wage worker was washed away in a flooded stream near the town of Nipani in Bheempur on Thursday. The body was found in a thorny forest downstream. Ravinder, sub-inspector of Bheempur, said the deceased was Venkat Gold, 45, a resident of the town of Nipani. Venkat encountered a watery grave as he braved the current flooding due to torrential rain in upstream areas to reach his home on the other side. He was washed away in the swirling water of the stream. His wife Jyothi became suspicious when he first returned home until evening. She called a farmer who was engaged to her husband in agriculture.
His relatives and locals began a search for Venkat’s body and found it in the bushes. Based on a complaint filed by Jyothi, a case was registered. Sources said the Bheempur mandal received light rainfall, causing local streams and gorges to flood.
