With the decline in the number of corona cases, the incidence of black fungal infection cases has declined and there has been a decrease in the number of new patients coming to the hospital over the past three days. Earlier, eight to 10 patients had been coming to the hospital every day. But, for the past three days, only four to six patients have been coming to Hamidia Hospital daily. At present, there are 110 patients of black fungal infection in Hamidia Hospital and, out of these, seven patients are in a serious condition.
How do micro-debriders help during surgery?
* According to doctors, four different instruments are needed to see the area affected by mucormycosis in the sinus, suction to pull out damaged tissues, remove them and later clean the area
* Each job takes about half an hour, this way, the procedure takes at least two hours. It takes more time if the fungus is deeper
* With micro-debriders, all the four tasks will be done simultaneously and this will not only save time, but will also make it easier on the patients
