War against COVID-19 not over yet, follow SOPs strictly: DC Budgam

Srinagar, Jun 10 (UNI) Asserting that the war against COVID-19 is not over yet, Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza on Thursday urged the people to strictly follow all mandated guidelines in letter and spirit to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.

The Deputy Commissioner said as on date, the total positive cases stand at 1400, adding since the last two days the number of daily cases has gone down further and is now 4.87 per cent.

Regarding the occurrence of deaths since the last two to three days, Mr Mirza said the rate of deaths have increased from 0.23 per cent to 0.52 per cent.

He once again appealed to the general public to ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs, guidelines and also undertake vaccination as these are the safe and secure means to protect oneself from getting infected. He added that Vaccination will reduce fatalities.
