Nifty FMCG stocks gain over 200 points; Varun Beverages, Godrej Conusmer and Emami among top gainers

Heavyweights Hindustan Unilever, Tata Consumer, and ITC also made huge gains to lift the sectorial performance.

Nifty FMCG stocks gained over 200 points to go with the bullish markets on Thursday. Varun Beverages and Godrej Consumer Products took the fast lane to drive the Index while Emami was also bullish.

Heavyweights Hindustan Unilever, Tata Consumer, and ITC also made huge gains to lift the sectorial performance.

At around 2.12 PM, Nifty FMCG was trading at 35,793.30 up 204.35 points or 0.57%, touching a high of 35,901.75 and low of 35,448.60 during intraday trade on Thursday.

Varun Beverages surged over 4.1% at Rs798.75 per piece to lead the sectorial gains. Godrej Consumer also advanced 4% at Rs887.25 per piece to help in consolidating Index gains. 

Emami gained 2.2% at Rs551.50 per piece while Marico rose 1.7%. Heavyweights HUL, Tata Consumer and ITC were up 1.5%, 1.4% and 1.3%, respectively to lift performance, also United Spirits and Jubilant Foodworks jhave joined the rally in the index, which were up over 1%.

UBL, Dabur India and Britannia also traded higher while Procter & Gamble Hygience, Nestle Indi and Colgate Plamolive also were marginally higher.
