Working with Buddha da is a treasure to me: Prosenjit

By Atanu Roy
Kolkata, Jun 10 (UNI) In this turbulent time, it has become a dark day of Indian cinema.
Legendary director and poet Buddhadeb Dasgupta has left for heavenly abode. Expressing his grief, one of his leading actors, Prosenjit Chatterjee said, "Every single slice of our memories seems to be lost somewhere. One by one. I feel devastated. Another master Buddha da has left. I grew up watching Buddha da's films since childhood. He was a teacher to me. He also was a poet. Most importantly, I have rarely seen a better person like him. May his soul rest in art. His movies will be with us forever."
Reminiscing working with Dasgupta, Prosenjit said, "I feel very lucky to have worked with him. I have had the opportunity to work with Buddha da twice in a row. I have acted in 'Ami, Yasin aar Amar Madhubala' and 'Swapner Din'. Working with him is nothing less than a treasure to me".
Talking about Dasgupta's magnitude of work and international acceptance, Chatterjee said, "Buddha da is not just a director of Bengali films. He has made immense contributions to Indian cinema.
At the same time, he is admired all over the world. I have seen him at famous film festivals like Toronto. I got a chance to see the reaction of people outside the country just hearing his name and films, not by looking at his face."
