Ration shop sealed in Nashik

Nashik, Jun 9 (UNI) A food supply officer on Wednesday sealed a ration shop at Ravalji village in Kalvan taluka of the district for alleged irregularity.
A few days ago, when a villager went to get the ration from the shopkeeper, he was given 5 kg less wheat.
When questioned about the same, shopkeeper Rajendra Wagh allegedly abused, kicked and beat the beneficiary, sources said.
After hearing about the incident, the villagers demanded legal action against the concerned ration shopkeeper and to cancel the licence of his shop.
A memorandum to this effect was given to the Tehsildar, Kalvan.
Based on that, supply inspector Ramesh Gaikwad sealed the ration shop today because Wagh was running the shop on behalf of Chakrapani Mahila Bachat Group.
