Hyderabad: Hyderabad Cricket Association, President Mohammed Azharuddin, is reacting strongly to the show-cause notice issued to him by the Apex Council and reiterates that the meeting is illegal.
‘How can they issue a notice to me when the meeting itself was illegal? The Apex board members must in fact respond to the performance notice issued to them. “We must take drastic action against these illegal meetings,” he said.
Azharuddin said he wrote a letter to the secretary (R Vijayanand) on June 6 not to hold any meetings as it is illegal. ‘I warn you to stop and refrain from rejecting you for acts that are contrary to the rules and regulations of HCA. In the absence of that, I will be compelled to go to court to apply appropriate legal action against the office bearers of the councilors. ”
The former Indian captain further pointed out: ‘An apex meeting convened by you (secretary) without the president’s consent is illegal, invalid and contrary to rule 7 (3) of the constitution. From now on, after the investigation by the Ombudsman has been completed, you are hereby instructed to comply with the provisions of the constitution … ”
He said the Apex board would meet at an appropriate time after the ongoing investigation by Ombudsman (Justice Deepak Verma) was completed.
