The seized tractor-trolley

Alot (Ratlam district, Madhya Pradesh): An administrative team, while patrolling, caught a tractor-trolley on Dabdia Road on Tuesday, which was transporting illegally cut wood. The team confiscated the tractor and sent it Alot police station.

Naib Tehsildar Ranu Mal said they saw wood being transported in a tractor-trolley. When they didn’t receive a satisfactory answer from driver, they seized the tractor-trolley and sent it to police station. A case has been registered in this connection. Reserve inspector Ghanshyam Lohar, Naib Tehsildar Ranu Mal, Patwari Krishna Singh Rajput and others were in the patrol team.

About 8 sawmills operate in the area. But many run without licence and thrive on illegally cut trees. One can see quintals of wood spread in the area including Ram Singh Durbar Road behind Bohra Masjid but administration seems to have turned a blind eye.

“Trees are cut openly everyday but administration takes some action and matter ends there,” a local resident said.
