HMD Global has silently launched a new budget smartphone named Nokia C01 Plus. It is an Android Go device which means you should not expect anything premium here. The phone has a physical appearance same as the Nokia C1 Plus from the last year but these are two completely different smartphones.

The Nokia C01 Plus has a 5.45-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) display with thick bezels on the top and bottom. This is the reason it has the previously commonly used 16:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by an octa-core Unisoc SC9863a processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. There is 16GB of onboard storage with microSD card support up to 128GB.

The phone has a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. The good thing is that it has a selfie flash too. It should help users with low-light selfies like during the night. It features a 3,000mAh battery and supports the standard 5W charging. It will ship with Android 11 (Go Edition) as the operating system. Other features include a microUSB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.2 support.

Nokia has priced the Nokia C01 Plus at RUB 6,490 i.e. about $90 for the sole 1GB/16GB variant. It is available in Bue and Purple color options in Russia. There are no words on global release yet.
