Bengali TV actor Suvo Chakraborty attempts suicide on Facebook Live; cops rush to save him

Bengali Television actor Suvo Chakraborty, known for 'Mangal Chandi' and 'Manasa', tried to end his life on a Facebook Live, on Wednesday, by consuming sleeping pills. Suvo said that he was depressed due to lack of work amid the COVID-19 crisis.

During the livestream, the actor kept consuming sleeping pills while interacting with his followers.

"I quit," he captioned the video, where he was seen singing and playing guitar.

"Every household has this problem. My mother will say my son is unemployed at 31. My father died last year and we are living on pension money," he said, adding, "When one is depressed, they don't feel like living. I am not doing this just for show. I am really swallowing sleeping pills slowly."

"I don't know, jumping from the roof, cutting my hand, I don't like all this. Finally, I found sleeping pills. Those who have high blood pressure have chances of getting a cardiac arrest," he said.

After finishing the strip of pills, he said that if he's alive, he will make another video.

One of Suvo's followers immediately informed the cops and Kolkata Police rushed to save him, reported India Today.

The police officials reportedly contacted Facebook and traced the actor's live location. The local police then reached his residence and saved him.

According to the report, Chakravorty's mother and sister were also at home at the time of the incident. However, they were unaware of what Suvo was doing.
