Hyderabad: Sensation reigned in Chilkalguda police station after an accused attacked a police constable and seriously injured him.
Late Tuesday night, a team of police arrested the three people Mamidi Shivanath, Mamidi Srinath and Mamidi Hari after they allegedly attacked a Sana owner from Kirana.
According to the sources, the police received information about the knife incident in the Chikalguda area after which a team was rushed to the scene.
Mamidi Hari and his sons allegedly inflicted injuries on Srikanth with a knife over a trivial matter for which they were arrested and moved to the police station.
Kiran Kumar, a police constable attached to a patrol party with blue foals, was part of a team that interrogated the accused at the police station, during which Srinath, who was hiding a knife in his middle, suddenly attacked the constable.
During the attack, a police constable sustained serious injuries to his neck and was taken to a corporate hospital.
Police have registered two separate cases against the accused and an investigation is underway.
