Hyderabad: The COVID-19 the positivity rate in Telangana dropped further to 1.42 percent as the state ended positive cases during the 24-hour period on Thursday 1897.
A total of 1 333 134 samples were tested during the period. The rate of positivity has declined significantly over the past two weeks.
The new cases raised the state’s cumulative score to 5.95 000. During the period, another fifteen people died from the virus and the death toll rose to 3,409.
The daily media bulletin issued by the office of the director of public health and family welfare shows that the state is still recovering more than recording new cases. A total of 2,982 people recovered during the past 24 hours.
The recovery rate rose to 95.34 percent from 95.14 percent the previous day. This is higher than the national average of 94.25 percent.
The number of active cases stands at 24,306, compared to 25,406 the previous day.
With more than 1.33 lakh tests conducted on Tuesday, the number of cumulative tests in the state exceeded 1.61 million. Samples tested per million inhabitants stand at 4,33,298.
Greater Hyderabad reported 182 new cases on Tuesday, up from 165 the previous day. Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri, which borders the state capital, reported 114 and 101 cases respectively.
While cases in most districts have deteriorated, some border districts have still seen a relatively large number of infections. Khammam reported 163 new cases, while neighboring Bhadradri Kothagudem added 91 cases.
Nalgonda reported 151 new cases, while the daily count in Suryapet also increased to 65. Karimnagar reported 93 new cases.
