A shooting Monday left a man in Independence with life-threatening injuries.
The Independence Police Department was called at 11:35 a.m. to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 500 block of North Peck Court.
A man was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening wounds, the department posted on social media.
No suspect information was immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.

Ohio asked a court on Tuesday to declare Alphabet's Google a public utility, a step the state's Republican attorney general said would forbid the search and advertising giant from giving preferential treatment to its own products. Mexico announced Tuesday it has barred former Treasury and Foreign Relations Secretary Luis Videgaray from holding public office there for 10 years, after finding he failed to accurately report his holdings, income or properties between late 2012 and 2016.
