Warangal: Sudden downpour disrupts traffic and floods low-lying areas

Warangal: Several low-lying areas below the boundaries of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) were flooded after heavy rain in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Vehicle traffic was disrupted when the floodwaters overflowed onto the road near Ambedkar Bhavan at the Tirumala Bar Center and several other places in the city.

According to officials, Hanamkonda mandals recorded the highest rainfall of 14.67 cm, followed by Hasanparthy mandal with 12.52 cm rainfall and Kamalapur recorded 11.8 cm. Khila Warangal scored 11.23 cm, while Khazipet Mandal received 10.33 cm. Several other parts of the former Warangal district also received light to heavy rainfall on Wednesday.
