Lucknow: Two deaths, 9 mucormycosis cases at King George's Medical University

LUCKNOW: Two more patients of mucormycosis--Black fungus-- succumbed at King George's Medical University on Tuesday. Those who died included a 45-year-old male resident of Kushinagar and a 70-year-old female resident of Unnao.
KGMU admitted nine more patients of black fungus on Tuesday which took its tally of black fungus patients till now to 324. In the last 24 hours, the university, which has been reeling under shortage of life-saving drug for the disease --Amphotericin B Injection -- performed different surgeries on 14 patients. During the same period, one patient was discharged from the medical facility.
