New Delhi, Jun 9 (UNI) Uttarakhand High Court on Wednesday commenting on the proposed opening of Char Dham, said that the state government should proceed with such steps only in a systematic manner amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
A division bench of Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Justice AK Verma was hearing a bunch of pleas in connection with Covid-19 related issues.
"We don't want the state to face embarrassment ..if it is required to be opened up, it must be done in a systematic manner...can't open up and make it into a breeding ground," the bench asserted.
The court also pointed out videos surfaced of non-adherence of Covid protocols by the priests and other staff, noting they were seen without wearing masks while performing the rites and not following social distancing while exiting the temple.
The matter will hear further on June 16.
