Ghaziabad: To provide succour to families who lost their breadwinner to Covid, the district administration last month started an initiative to help them. So far, the administration has received 108 requests, mostly pertaining to
death certificates, officials said.
“On 19 May, we started a programme, ‘
Always with You’, to provide assistance to families of
Covid victims and help them with paperwork and other
formalities, which in the absence of the breadwinner was proving to be difficult,” said
PD Dixit, project director.
“We floated an email-id, along with phone numbers, and we received 108 requests from the
affected families, mostly pertaining to death certificates.”
While 80 requests were for death certificates, 17 were for transfer of
properties and succession issues, seven for bank-related issues and four pertaining to
GST and police.
“Till June 7, we disposed of 61 death certificate issues, 11 issues related to succession and transfer of properties, two bank-related work and two related to GST, police and other work. We hope to clear the remaining issues shortly,” said Dixit.
