Zeinorin Stephen Angkang brings pride to Ukhrul

Ukhrul, June 08 2021: Taking Ukhrul to the global map of excellence and adding another feather to her cap, the brain behind Hill Wild Private company, 29 years young Zeinorin Stephen Angkang of Hungpung, Ukhrul has been selected as one of the world's 12 most inspirational young leaders for Kofi Annan Changemakers 2021 .

Zeinorin Angkang will represent India as one of the twelve recognised international leaders to participate in a six month inter-generational dialogue hosted by the Kofi Annan Foundation.

The others chosen for Kofi Annan Changemakers 2021 dialogue are from Ghana, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Philippines, Zimbabwe, Kosovo, Columbia, Malaysia, Malawi, Ghana and Uganda.

The six month-long Kofi Annan Foundation's inter-generational dialogue will begin from June 28, 2021, in Geneva, Switzerland.

Zeinorin is married to Leiyalon Vashum, and the couple founded Hill Wild Pvt Ltd, a chocolate and confectionery making unit at Ukhrul in 2017 .

Zeinorin took to her Facebook wall, "I'm elated to announce that I'm one of Kofi Annan Changemakers 2021.I have been keeping this news for two months until the official announcement.

This makes me truly believe in the work we do even more.

Our commitment and impact with the indigenous farmers is now recognised by Kofi Annan foundation, a leader we truly look up to," she added.

"I look forward to connect with people who can enhance and shape my leadership skills.

What a moment ! Hello Geneva, Here I come," said the young entrepreneur.

Zeinorin has been working with the farmers of Ukhrul and her vision for the indigenous farmers playing huge role in food security and transforming community is what stands out.

"If our indigenous farmers can feed our own community throughout the year, we will have more nutrition and better economy.

This is what we are working for.

Let's share our food custom to the world.

Let's preserve our indigenous produces.

This gives back power to the indigenous farmers and people in the process," said the young entrepreneur.

The twelve young leaders, who have already demonstrated commitment and impact in their respective fields, will interact with leaders from the high-level network of Kofi Annan and the Kofi Annan Foundation, searching for ways to build their capacity for positive action.

Kofi Annan Changemaker 2021 is an initiative to create and provide an environment where the next generation of leaders can seek counsel from experienced individuals on how to strengthen the impact of their work as they also become torchbearers of Kofi Annan's values and principles.
