Bajaj Allianz Life To Upskill Over 8,000 Employees

The company re-trained its more than 80,000 insurance consultants to use virtual tools to connect with the customers and service them digitally

As the pandemic forces every firm to shift its operations to a digital platform. Bajaj Allianz has shifted its instructor-led interventions to a digital mode as well. The firm has started retraining over 8,000 insurance consultants, functional and behavioral learning mixed with theoretical knowledge and practice to reinforce the theory learnt. They are using virtual tools to connect with the customers and service them digitally.

Santanu Banerjee, Chief Human Resources Officer, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance said, "Utility and usage of e-learning bouquets and blending this content with other modes of learning are happening constantly to create comprehensive learning journeys making it more contextual and agile.” 

 "Training modules were designed to enable the employees to manage their work and personal life during these critical times," Banerjee further said. 

At Bajaj Allianz, recruitment in the current financial year has just started. Speaking on the hiring strategy, Banerjee said the company has a balanced recruitment mix with close to 50 per cent of the hiring coming through referral.

“We also use consultants/partners from time to time to fill critical positions. We have been, since last year, actively exploring the Gig ecosystem and filled several positions through that,” Banerjee said. 

the company has started various initiatives for its employees including unlimited Covid leaves, reimbursement of the vaccination cost for the employees and their families. The company has declared extra payouts over and above GTL (Group Term Life) cover; education assistance for two children up to graduation or 21 years.
