Is it possible my TDEE is this low?

Right now I'm 5'10 157lbs. I'm almost done with my cut, I'm about 17% bodyfat. I have a decent amount of muscle but my bones are pretty thin (tiny wrists) so that's probably why my weight is so low.

I've been eating 1500 cal a day and doing 400 cal of cardio. I don't feel hungry really, I think I have done a good job with volumizing my foods + taking multivitamin, etc.

I'm only losing 1lb/week. Is it possible that my TDEE is this low from being sedentary or is my metabolism shot or something?

It's really weird to me that according to calculators I'm supposed to have a 2000 cal maintenance with 0 exercise yet I'm only losing 1lb a week on 1500 cal + 400 cardio...

Just looking for advice I guess, I know I'm not miscounting my calories, I use a food scale and lost 30lbs last year in 5 months (1.5lb/week with the same 1500 diet + daily cardio). It seems like this is my actual metabolism which seems VERY slow.

Can you be sure about the 1lb a week - how much data do you have for that?

Also, there is the issue of how gadgets report calories burned. It could be that you only burned (say) 200 calories over and above what you'd normally be doing at that time of day if not exercising.

Of course your TDEE will be lower when you are lighter but probably not to the tune of 500 calories.

I'm counting my reps, I've been doing 4000 reps of jump rope daily which is 400-500 cal (I just count 400)

The problem isn't the 1.5lb vs 1lb a week fat loss, the problem is how little calories I have to eat to lose weight. Isn't it abnormal?

That sounds like an even less accurate method for measuring calories burned than a fitbit...

The discrepancy is almost certainly explainable but an accumulation of errors in your estimates. There is no reason for your metabolism to suddenly change.

talking of which, you didn't say how much weigh-in data you have.

For my 1.5lb/week loss at 190lbs all the way to 160lbs I had 100 weight-ins at least all tracked

For my 1lb/a week I don't have as many, but the 1lb/w isn't important

I'm just wondering why I only lost 1.5lbs when 1500 is seen as a crazy deficit for most men (not including cardio)

If you were averaging 1.5lbs a week for 100 days then it seems very clear that your TDEE was 750 calories above your average daily calorie intake.

A dieting TDEE of 2250 calories (remember TDEE includes all exercise) is not unreasonable. Your metabolism can adjust by (say) 250 calories when dieting - which means your maintenance TDEE was 2500 which is bang on for average males.

I don't really see what the problem is - I thought that the query was about going from 1.5 to just 1lb a week - but you are saying that isn't important..?
